Meet Taylor! She’s the new Owlkids intern. You’ll be seeing her posts on the Owlkids blogs for the next little while. Read on to see what she has to say today!
The weekend is the perfect time to catch up on reading because there’s so much free time.
When I was young, I loved reading the Junie B. Jones books! They were about a girl named Junie B. Jones (the B stands for Beatrice, but she didn’t like that) and her experiences with things like a stinky school bus and a yucky fruitcake.
I also loved the Goosebumps books – my friend and I read every single one of them that our school’s library had!
If you’re looking for some books to read this weekend, check these out:
Poppy and Sam and the Leaf Thief
In this book, Poppy and her panda friend Sam use their detective skills to find out who has been sneakily eating their friend’s leaves at night.
West Meadows Detectives: The Case of the Snack Snatcher
By Liam O’Donnell and Aurélie Grand
This is the first book in the West Meadows Detectives series! It follows Myron: a third-grade detective who loves solving mysteries. In this book, Myron tries to catch the burglar stealing morning snacks from the school kitchen.
Have fun reading!
Here are some pretty funny jokes to keep you smiling as you start the school year.
Q: Why was school easier for cave people?
A: Because there was no history to study!
Q: What’s the king of all school supplies?
A: The ruler.
Q: Do you know how bees get to school?
A: On the school buzz!
Q: What do librarians take with them when they go fishing?

Bye for now!
Hey there readers,
By now you’re all preparing yourselves for school and part of that is figuring out how to get there. Some people walk, others ride their bikes, some take the bus and others are dropped off by an adult.
This week’s edition of Would You Rather Wednesday is all about the other cool ways to get to school. Let’s begin!
Would you rather:
Ride a Cheetah or a Tortoise to school?
Get to school in a hot air balloon or on a zip line?
Hop on one leg or walk on your hands all the way to school?
Have Hermione Granger or Harry Potter drop you off at school?
Get to school on a bike made out of licorice or a car made out of donuts?
