
Many kids in Afghanistan can't go to school because their parents need them to work. This allows the whole family to buy things they need like food. The creative thinkers at World Vision saw this and came up with a solution: give families food in exchange for sending their kids to school. But that's not all the Food for Education program does. Over the past five years, World Vision has built more than 40 new schools. These schools are especially needed in the poor western provinces of Badghis and Ghor, where rugged mountains and long winters mean the villagers are often cut off from international aid.
