RAotW #12

Well, what do you know? Reader Art of the Week two weeks in a row! One more and we tie the all-time RAotW record for weeks in a row. Awesome. I think we can, I think we can….

In any case, this week’s art is, for the first time in the history of RAotW, photography! And it comes to us courtesy of blog reader Tia. Check it out:

Cool, huh? I’ve always loved how the spots on peacock feathers look like several sets of eyes. Freaky!

Tia informs me she took this shot recently at the Calgary Zoo. It’s colourful and close up, but it’s particularly impressive for another reason. Because male peacocks (like the one shown here) usually only fan out their tail feathers to impress female peacocks, capturing the feathers on film can be a tough task. Nice work, Tia.

So, what’s on tap for next week? Send me your drawings, stories, photos, etc., and I’ll try to post them on the blog. Let’s keep the week streak alive!
