In honour of Arabic Language Day, here are some fun facts!

• The oldest form of Arabic literature is poetry
• Arabic is spoken by people all over the world and each dialect, or type, is quite different from one another
• Some English words come from Arabic, like Coffee (Arabic: Qahwah), Algebra (Arabic: Jabr), and Cotton (Arabic: Qatn).
• Arabic is written from right to left
