In the March “Trivia Time”, a photo of a humpback whale was mistakenly labelled as a blue whale. Here’s some facts about these two cool whales!
Blue whale
1. Blue whales can grow to about 32 to 34 m (105 to 110 ft). That makes them the largest animals on Earth!
2. They get their name from their bluish-grey colour. Sometimes if the conditions are right, they might even appear to have yellowish-green undersides.
Humpback whale
1. Humpback whales can grow up to 48 to 62.5 feet (14.6 to 19 m) long.
2. These whales are named for the humps on their backs.
