Bring Back the Wild!
Our friends at Earth Rangers have launched four new conservation projects!
The Blanding’s turtle, beluga whale, Western bumble bee, and barn swallow are all animals native to Canada with populations in decline. They are also the four animals that Earth Rangers across Canada will help protect through the Earth Rangers Bring Back the Wild program.
Participants will learn the importance of protecting animals by preserving their natural habitats and will also embark on an animal-saving mission to complete a Bring Back the Wild fundraising campaign. Once that’s achieved, you’ll receive additional missions.

The new Blanding’s turtle Public Service Announcement will help you understand a bit more about the challenges some of these animals face.
What are some animals that you want to help protect?

I want to protect tigers. They’ve been endangered for a really long time, and I read there’s more in captivity than in the wild, which I find pretty depressing!
Yes, that’s true. In the June issue of OWL, the classroom of the month was raising funds to help the tigers. I thought that was pretty neat!
Yeah, I thought that was cool, too!
