Burgalicious Cupcakes
OWL photo researcher Tracey was busy this week in the kitchen with her daughter Sammy.
Not only did they bake up a storm of cupcakes, they found a way to make them burgalicious.
Check out the pics, they look so cool!
Here’s what Tracey said about her cupcake extravaganza:
“Sammy and I had a great time making these! It took a while because we had to bake two batches of cupcakes (one vanilla and one chocolate). The decorating was the best part though, especially when we added the final touch, which was the sesame seeds. We were so excited to see our little creations, and can’t wait to make them again.”
Nice work, Tracey and Sammy!

So cute!
That’s so cool! I wonder if you could put the recipe in OWL…
Hi Katie,
Here’s a quick run down of the recipe.
Bake two batches of cupcakes (chocolate & vanilla).
Cut the Vanilla cupcakes in half for the bun, and the top of the chocolate cupcake is your patty. The recipe calls for three colours of icing (red, green and yellow). We couldn’t find yellow, so we just added food colouring to white icing. The fun part is decorating. 🙂
First add a bit of cheese (yellow icing) around the edges of the bottom of the bun, place your patty on top of that, add the green and red around the edges of your patty for your ketchup and relish. Add a little extra icing on top of the patty to keep it together. Add the top half of your bun and your almost done. The last step is to brush on a bit of orange juice on the top of the bun (so the sesame seeds will stick). Sprinkle the sesame seeds for the finishing touch.
It takes a while, but it’s super fun.
Thanks, Tracey. I wouldn’t have guessed the orange juice part!
That’s awesome! Thanks! 😀
cute!:)
Totally agree!
I’m not a cupcake fan, but I might just have to make a batch of those…
Do you like baking, Alyssa? What about you, Katie?
Sort of. I prefer eating cupcakes and cookies rather than baking them! :p
I like your answer, Katie! I like baking banana muffins the most.
Mmmm… My mom bakes banana chocolate chip muffins. They are delicious!
They sound great, Alyssa!
I enjoy baking but I’ve never done any baking myself, only with my mom. Maybe my mom and I can make some.
That’s nice. It’s time you can spend together. 🙂
These look so good! And I love cooking 7 up bars my mom makes and I help with.
Nice! What are 7 up bars?
They are hard to explain.
