Animal of the Month: The Indian Cobra

Hi readers!

I hope that you’re all enjoying the November issue of chickaDEE! If you haven’t yet, remember to check out this month’s Animal of the Month, the Indian cobra.

Here are a few tidbits about the snake:

It’s famous. This snake is the star of many Hindu legends and myths!

It can smell with its tongue. Snakes flick their tongues in-and-out of their mouths quickly to pick up scents.

It’s dangerous. There’s a very powerful poison inside this cobra’s body. That’s why most people in India and Pakistan respect this snake by leaving it alone.

It’s fun to look at. The Indian cobra has a very cool pattern on the back of it’s body. Some think the design looks like a pair of eyes!

Pretty amazing stuff, right?

Photo Diary: The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

Hello readers!

Last Friday, chickaDEE took a field trip to The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, Ontario. Here are a few pictures from our trip!

This is Laura feeding a goat.

This little goat wanted some more food!

These funny-looking guys are called African Geese.

These sheep are resting after being sheared.

This rabbit is called a Flemish Giant. He’s pretty big, huh?

Well, check out how big he is compared to my head! Haha!

Here is the chickaDEE team trying to pose with Freedom the Llama and Nancy from Sonny’s Llama Farm in Delhi, Ontario. Freedom didn’t know where the camera was… but Laura sure did!
