Coming up on November 13 is World Kindness Day. Did you do any kindness challenges from the November issue of Chickadee magazine? Our friend Sandra Dumais wrote and illustrated “The Community Kindness Olympics” and she also made this cut-out medal just for you! Once you’ve completed a few challenges, click on the medal below, print and cut it out. Then decorate it any way you’d like. Be PROUD because you are a Kindness Hero!

Recipe: Strawberry Snack

Hey readers,

Celebrate strawberry season with a delicious popsicle!

*Remember to ask an adult for help in the kitchen!

You’ll need:

• 500 mL (2 cups) of washed strawberries with the stems removed.
• 60 mL (1/4 cup) white sugar
• 15 mL (1 tbsp.) fresh lime juice
• pot and stove
• blender
• popsicle moulds

How to make:

1. As a grown-up to help you heat the strawberries and sugar on the stove for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. Remove from the heat and let the berries cool for 15 minutes.
3. Blend the berries. Then add the lime juice and blend a bit more.
4. Pour the mixture into popsicle moulds and freeze for at least four hours.
