Our friends at CBC are helping us celebrate Chirp’s birthday. If you live in the Toronto area, join us on July 18 and 19 for the big festivities between 10:00am and 2:00pm. There will be free giveaways and a meet and greet with Chirp himself.

Writing poetry can be fun! Here’s a poem I wrote about summer:
Summer vacation,
Well on its way.
I’m sleeping,
I’m reading,
I’m playing all day.
I’m running,
I’m swimming,
I’m dancing. Ole!
I’m drawing,
I’m whistling,
I’m making soufflés!
I’m dreaming, I’m longing
for summer to stay.
Use a rhyming dictionary like http://www.rhymer.com/ and try writing your own rhyming poem. Or, put pen to paper and write a freestyle poem like this one:
At the beach
In the ocean
Open water
Swooshing winds
Roaring waves
Crash.

Did you know that July is Ice Cream Month? What better a way to celebrate than by playing a fun ice cream game!
