**THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. WINNERS HAVE BEEN CONTACTED. THANK YOU FOR ENTERING!**
Today is Guinness World Records Day!
The Chickadee blog is celebrating this fun of day of record-breaking by giving readers a chance to win a copy of the Guinness World Records 2021 book!
In this edition, learn about the cutest and most dangerous creatures in the animal kingdom. Find pop culture with world records from your fave actors and musicians. Get the scoop on the best athletes in the world. This book is interactive too—you can travel through the Solar System and see the planets with a free augmented-reality feature! You can also test your own record-breaking skills with a special “Against the Clock” chapter that will guide you through challenges you can safely do in your own home.
Want to learn more? We’re giving Chickadee readers a chance to WIN 1 of 5 copies of this book.
To enter, tell us in the comments: For Guinness World Records Day, what world record would you like to break? Please leave your name and age, too!
Contest deadline: December 2, 2020 at 11:59pm.
Prize courtesy of Guinness World Records.

Today is Global Handwashing Day! It’s a day to bring awareness to the importance of handwashing to keep everyone safe and healthy. Here is a handy guide you can print out and keep next to the sink!
Today is the first day of October! Time to think about Halloween, right? Depending on where you live, COVID-19 may change your plans for Halloween this year. But now you can keep the Halloween spirit alive in your own neighbourhood—and help kids who need it! For many kids around the world, COVID-19 has changed their access to essentials that keep them safe and healthy: water, nutrition, education and health care.
UNICEF Canada has adapted their popular Halloween program to encourage kids to become Halloween Heroes! How? Dress up and walk your neighbourhood (while social distancing) with your family and sign up for the UNICEF Halloween Walk-a-thon! When you sign up by October 9th, you’ll get a fun walk-a-thon package in the mail with a Halloween Hero Card to help you raise money. Get all the details by clicking here.
It sounds like a great idea that we can all get behind! Will you be a Halloween Hero this year? Let us know in the comments!
