1. Make three snowballs and set them aside.
2. Use a stick to draw a line in the snow.
3. Stand back and try to toss your snowballs over the line!

Happy Children’s Day!

Hi Readers,

November 20th is Children’s Day! Can you believe it? A whole day just for YOU! If you and your family are looking for something fun to do to celebrate this special day, try one of these activities:

1. Donate money or gifts to a children’s charity.
2. Have a neighbourhood party and invite all your friends and even some children you don’t yet know.
3. Ask your school to organize a festival or school trip to celebrate this day.
4. Wrap up an old toy or book and give it to a child who might not have a lot of books or toys.
5. Visit your local community centre or childcare centre to see what fun events they have planned.

Happy Halloween!

Hi, Readers!

Are you as excited about Halloween as I am? Even though Halloween is full of tricks and treats, it’s important to remember to be safe, too.

Here are some Halloween safety tips to remember while you’re out and about tonight:

1. Make sure your costume doesn’t hang over your feet so you don’t trip.
2. Wear reflectors on your clothing.
3. Keep your costume away from lit candles or pumpkins.
4. Wear face paint instead of a mask so you can better.
5. Walk, don’t run to each house.
6. Do not enter a neighbour’s house unless a parent says it’s okay.
7. If you have to cross the street, make sure to look for cars and cross with an adult.
8. Don’t touch unfamiliar pets or neighbourhood animals.
9. Check all your candy for holes or missing wrapping.
10. Don’t eat too many treats or you might get sick.

The September issue of Chirp is all about NATURE! If you love nature as much as I do, then I bet you do whatever you can to help protect it.
