June Chirp

We’re having fun with boats in the June issue of Chirp!

Set sail into the magazine to learn all about the different parts of a boat. After that, try making your own ships out of empty drink cartons and read a dreamy story about some magical boats. There’s even more fun ahoy with our boat-themed version of bingo!

To get you into the ship-spirit, try making this floaty craft.

Stick a clump of clay into the bottom of a walnut shell. Cut out a small piece of paper for a sail, and stick it through the top of a toothpick. Place the other end of the toothpick into the clay, then float your mini-sailboat in a puddle or pond!

Indoor Garden Craft

Hi everyone,

Has the weather has been chilly where you live? If you’re itching to get outside on cool or rainy days, try making your own indoor garden. Cut flower shapes out of patterned paper or painted egg cartons. Or bend fans of colourful folded paper into circles and glue onto a Popsicle stick. Add paper leaves and get set for Spring fever!

Funny Face Activity

Hi readers!

Are you feeling creative? I just found a fun activity that let’s you make all kinds of faces. There are many different eyes, mouths and hairdos to choose from. You can even choose accessories, like hats and glasses! Just drag whatever you like onto the face. If you want, you can even print out your creation when you’re finished!
