A Day at HorseCapades

Hi readers!

I just spent the day with some horses at HorseCapades. This family-friendly event is great because you can see horses up close, feed them, ask questions to horse experts, and much more!

If you live in the Toronto area, you should check it out. If you don’t live nearby, you can still join the fun by looking at the photos below!

Miniature horses

These miniature horses were adorable! Baby horses are called foals. This foal is sleeping soundly in front of its mom.

I couldn’t get enough of these two. Mom was keeping a very close eye on her foal.

Goats

These goats were too cute to pass up! They were a little shy, at first though.

Feeding time!

This horse was enjoying some grass when I snapped this photo. Click here to see a video of this horse chowing down.

Brushing a horse!

This horse almost fell asleep while I brushed him. I could have done this all day long!

HorseCapades is running from July 28 to August 15 at the CNE in Toronto.

Amazing Animal: Monarch Butterflies

Meet the monarch butterfly. It’s the Amazing Animal in the April issue of Chirp! Did you know that some monarchs fly all the way from eastern North America to Mexico? It’s true! They make this long flight in order to escape the chilly winter weather.
