Today is Australia Day! In the November 2010 issue, we took chickaDEE readers on a journey to Australia. The issue was packed with cool Aussie facts, animals, stories, puzzles and games. We even showed you a recipe for Fairy Bread, a very special treat that Aussie children eat on their birthdays! Here’s the recipe again:
1. Take a slice of fresh white bread.
2. Spread a layer of butter or margarine on top.
3. Add colourful sprinkles.
4. Cut into triangles and share with a friend!
For a healthier version, you can replace the white bread with whole wheat bread and the sprinkles with dried fruit!
I’ve been playing this online game called Ice Slide and I want you to try it, too! Click on the image below to play the game.
I got my best score (237 m) when I used the penguin. Which character did you like the best? What was your highest score? Remember to ask your parents permission to play first.
Leave your score below in the comment section and have a great weekend, everyone!
Here’s a fun trick you can try on your friends and family this weekend.
You’ll need:
6 pennies
What to do:
1. Lay down six pennies. Ask your friend or family member to set them up in two rows of four pennies each.
2. If they get stuck, you can help them! Just put one penny on top of another, then place a penny on all four sides of the stacked pennies like I did below!
See? Two rows of four pennies!
Did you try this trick on anyone? Leave a comment below!
