Recipe: Chirp’s Cookies!

Hey readers,

To celebrate October being National Cookie Month, here’s a delicious recipe for Chirp’s chocolate chip cookies!

You’ll Need:

• 2 cups whole wheat, spelt, or white flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup chocolate chips
• 3/4 cup maple syrup
• 1/2 cup raw almond butter or Wow Butter
• 1/4 cup vegetable oil or olive oil
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp molasses (optional)

What to Do:

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. Mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl.
3. Add chocolate chips.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk the rest of the ingredients together, then add the dry ingredients.
5. Spoon dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Bake for about 11 minutes. Let the cookies cool for a minute and then transfer them to a baking rack to cool further.

Recipe: Happy Taco Day!

Hey readers,

Did you know that today is National Taco Day? To celebrate, try out this tasty taco dessert for a sweet spin on a classic dish!

You can find the full recipe here. Remember to always ask an adult for help in the kitchen!

You’ll Need:

• Sliced white bread
• Butter
• Nutella
• Strawberries, bananas, or any other fruit of your choice

What to Do:

1. Using a cookie cutter or a glass, cut a large circle out of a slice of white bread. Then, use a rolling pin to flatten it.
2. Butter both sides of the bread and add it to a pan over medium heat. Toast each side until golden brown.
3. Fold the bread in half to form a taco shell.
4. Spread Nutella on the inside of the taco shell and add sliced fruit.

Recipe: Coconut Energy Balls

Hey readers,

Did you know that this week is Coconut Week? To celebrate this tasty treat, we’re sharing a recipe for some energy balls that are sure to be a home-run! You can also find the full recipe here.

Remember, always ask an adult for help in the kitchen!

You’ll need:

• 1 banana
• 1/4 cup peanut butter
• 1 + 1/4 cup shredded coconut
• bowl
• fork or potato masher

How to make:

1. Mash the banana and peanut butter together.
2. Add 1 cup of coconut and mix well.
3. Take a spoonful of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Repeat until entire mixture is used.
4. Roll the ball in the leftover coconut until covered.

And then – take a bite and enjoy!
