OWL reader Sarah turns 11 today. Happy Birthday, Sarah!
We love birthdays around here. They make us want to get up and dance, just like this goat!
Do YOU want to see YOUR birthday here on the blog or in the magazine? Send us your name, birthday, including the year you were born, plus your photo, to email@example.com.
Thanks to everyone who sent in their pet pics!
Congratulations to Johnny, 9, for sending in this picture of his cat, Felice.
Apparently Felice’s name is Italian and it’s pronounced Fe-lee-chay, which means happy.
Check him out!
This picture was taken when Felice was just a kitty and we must say, what a cutie! We had to know more about Johnny’s feline friend.
OWL: Why is Felice the best cat in the world?
Johnny: He’s the best cat in the world because he is soft and fuzzy and cuddles up to me at bedtime.
OWL: What does Felice do that is kind of funny or unusual?
Johnny: First thing in the morning, Felice runs around the house, galloping like a little horse! He is in “play-mode.”
The OWL team wishes we had our own little Felice to keep us company in the office! For now, we’ll just admire this picture.
Honourable mention goes to Megan who sent awesome pictures of her dog Moose and Zach who surprised us with Slippery, his pet snake!
The December issue is now available and there’s a ton of really cool (literally) stuff to keep you busy this month.
Here are my three favourite things about the December issue:
1. I loved learning about the coldest city on Earth! I had so much fun talking to Shaun Walker, a journalist who visited there. Don’t miss the interview with Shaun on page 16.
2. The ice-cold creatures on page 20 will amaze you. Very few animals are able to endure the harsh climate of the Antarctic but the five animals that we include certainly have. Can anyone guess which of the five creatures is my fave?
3. Ask any one of the OWL team about the D.I.Y. crafts this month and I’m sure they’ll tell you that they’re AWESOME! We made each and every one of them, and we even had a canine photo shoot with one of the crafts. A dog day is a good day here at the OWL headquarters.
So what do you think of the December issue? Let us know!
After some of you read the November issue of Weird Zone, you were curious about Joe Salter.
And no wonder! Joe completed a triathalon while juggling the entire time… even while swimming! Sounds too good to be true? Well, see for yourselves.
Now, that’s multi-tasking!
Could you ever run a race while juggling? Not me!
