Celebrate Honey Month!
Hey readers,
September is Honey Month! Celebrate bees and honey all month long. This holiday was created to raise awareness about beekeeping and using honey as a healthy sweetener instead of sugar.
Here are some fun facts about honey:
- The oldest jars of honey were more than one thousand years old!
- Over twenty-thousand bees are needed to create just one jar of honey. That’s a lot of hard work!
- Honey is self-preserving. This means that honey can never go bad because it has so many nutrients, that bacteria can’t survive in the honey.
- Bee farmers in the United States have bees that produced purple honey- and they don’t even know how it happened!
