Celebrate International Peace Day!
Friday, September 21st is International Day of Peace. The United Nations declared the first Peace Day in 1982, making this year the 20th anniversary! This is a day when people talk about what peace means to them and how we can all make the world a more peaceful place.
There will be lots of events going on all over the world, but you can celebrate in your own homes too. Here are some ideas for you:
– Draw a picture of what you think a peaceful world looks like.
– Perform a play for your family and friends about what peace means to you.
– Paint and plant a peace rock (instructions at: http://www.plantingrocksforpeace.org/)
Check out www.internationaldayofpeace.org for more information on Peace Day.
Happy Peace Day!
