What is the recipe?
Hey Jack, here’s the recipe from last year’s March issue:
You’ll need:
190 mL (3/4 cup) whole-wheat flour
1.25 mL (1/4 tsp.) baking powder
1.25 mL (1/4 tsp.) salt
2 mL (1/4 tsp. and 1/8 tsp.) baking soda
60 mL (1/4 cup) sugar
60 mL (1/4 cup) butter
1.5 mL (1/2 tsp.) pure vanilla extract
25 mL (11/2 tbsp.) milk
What to do:
1. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and sugar in a bowl.
2. Melt the butter in another bowl. Stir in the vanilla and milk.
3. Combine the butter mixture with the dry mixture. Use your hands to mix until doughy.
4. Form the dough into *****. Flatten with the palm of your hand, then press a round cookie cutter into each circle.
5. Place the cookies on a baking sheet. Bake at 165 C (325 F) for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
