Cool Constellations
The January/February issue of Chirp is all about SPACE. We chose to feature the grizzly bear as this issue’s Amazing Animal because the name of the constellation Ursa Major means “great bear” in Latin. It was named this because people thought the shape of the stars in this constellation looked like a bear. There areĀ over 80 constellations in the night sky, including the Big Dipper, Ursa Major, and Canis Major (which is said to look like a dog).
Have you ever seen any of the constellations? Which ones have you seen?
