Dolphin Talk
In OWL’s September issue, we looked at the secret language of dolphins. What do all those squeaks, squawks, whistles, and clicks mean? Dr. Denise Herzing, marine biologist and founder of the Wild Dolphin Project, is working with her team to find out!

If you could study or communicate with any animal, what would it be?

Wow! That’s amazing! I love dolphins.
Cool, right? But I think if I could communicate with any animal, it would be sharks. I’m really scared of them, but I think if I could study and learn more about them, I wouldn’t be! What about you?
Did the comment I just posted get posted? The one about the animals I’d like to work with? I don’t think it did…
I don’t see it, Tardis. Sorry! What animals would you like to work with?
Oh okay, I must not have pressed post! But what I would like to work with are penguins! They’re so interesting. And the babies are so cute! 🙂
Totally. The babies are the cutest!
I have wanted to be a marine biologist for a few years now, but I’m not sure that I am the type of person that they specified in that video. If I did get to work and research the animal of my choice, it would definitely be the dolphin, though. I was really excited when that article was in this month’s OWL magazine.
