Earth Day Puzzle Contest!

April 22nd is Earth Day! Although it is one day, we should always be thinking about Earth and how we can all do our part in protecting it from pollution. Some ideas include:
- REDUCE: use both sides of paper when printing and use scrap paper whenever possible for homework or doodling
- RECYCLE: put paper, glass and plastic in the recycling bin
- REUSE: using refillable bottle instead of single-use plastic water bottles
- REPURPOSE: use recycled materials for craft projects
- REFUSE: stop and think if you really need something before buying it
For Earth Day, put your thinking cap on and brainstorm some ideas for helping the planet!

I pick up trash.
I always carry a bag with me so I don’t have to get plastic or buy one every time. Ivy, age 8
I turn the water off while I brush my teeth. Marigold, age 4
I use reusable water bottle instead of plastic water bottle and turn off electronic devices when not in use.

I keep a GOOS bin for my paper. Good On One Side. And I use my paper lots of times before recycling it. Evan, age 8
I pick up trash when I take my dog on a walk. I take a refillable water bottle to school and I turn off the lights when I leave the room.

I walk to the park on Saturday. It takes a long time but leaving mommys car at home does not built air pollution. It is good for the Earth and my body. I pick up plastic and garbage on the way to help the animals and Earth.
I can make the oceans so happy. Get the garbage on the ground. The garbage is bad for the water and the fish.
We walk to the library every Saturday even though I takes a very very long time. 45 minutes! One way! We leave the car at home.
Dont waste water

We don’t waste food.
We can air dry our clothes
We try not to waste food.
I do the following to help and save our planet
1. Donate books and clothes to the needy.
2. Take bike rides to get to nearby places.
3. Switch On the lights, gadgets and heater only if needed
4. Plant trees in summer
5. Reduce and dispose trash properly

I build crafts out of things I find in nature, instead of buying kits from the store. It’s cool to use lwaves and flowers to ink on paper.
