From the OWL Vault
Hey all! Last week I answered a question about OWL’s very first cover. Then I started thinking, “Hmm. I wonder if any blog readers have actually seen that cover?” Then I thought, “Eureka! I could post it on the blog!”
So, um, that’s what I’m going to do right now. Feast your eyes on the very first OWL cover ever (published, as I said, in January 1976):
What do you guys think? Pretty neat, huh? Great colours, cool narwhals, etc. It’s by an artist named Roger Hill, whom I’ve sadly never met.
Also, how did you guys like this trip down memory lane? What else would you like to see: old puzzles? Comics, maybe? Let me know in the comments below, and I’ll see what I can do.

I want to see maybe old comics from OWL if they were any in them. I really enjoy reading comics! I like Alex and Charlie and Archie comics.

really cool cover. it would be cool to see some old comics, like maybe some old Max Finder? (I’ve been reading OWL long enough to remember what it used to look like a long time ago!) or some other comics, i don’t know. what comics did owl start with? was it completely different ones?

Hey all. Sorry about the picture. I can see it on my computer, but I guess it’s got some problems. I’ll try posting it again tomorrow.
On the next post on the blog – “MOVIE NEWS: Up!” the side bar won’t let me go to the bottom – it just ends when I’m almost at the bottom. So, the comment I posted yesterday won’t show ’cause the side bar doesn’t go down that low on my computer.

Got it! I think it`s pretty cool,but it looks more like a cover to a documentary movie instead of a magazine cover.I`m getting Hershey…THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW! Thrilling!
I really liked that cover a lot better than the covers on Owl now. I think the covers should be changed back that way.
