From the OWL Vault
It probably goes without saying, but lots of OWL contest submissions blow me away. I put them up by my desk and think, “Wow, OWL readers are way smarter and cooler than me!” For example, in March 2007, we asked readers to create a comic based on a pretty boring story about a volleyball game. It was a tough task, but OWL reader Alisa Brandt totally ran with it.
Here is “Spiked!”, her grand prize-winning comic (click on it to make it bigger):

I’ve also said this before: send me YOUR drawings, comics, stories, etc., and I’ll try to post as many of them as I can on the blog. You can send by email or snail mail — just grab our address from a copy of the magazine.
Talk to you soon!

I remember when I saw this comic in an OWL issue a little while back. It really cracked me up. It was quite funny.
i remember this from owl to Katie, it still makes me laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
I’ve sent in some of those Photo Fun’s! I’ve got 2 of them published! YAY!
That comedy comic was the best comic i’ve read in a long time.
I love that comic!
Yeah. It’s really funny. So funny, I wonder how they got such a great idea to make that comic a winner. I don’t think I could have made one about that suject as funny as that.
*subject, not suject
yeah, being a comic writer (or artist?) would be tricky to get a punchline and put it in drawing. this was great!
