Get to know a Chirp writer!
Hi readers,
Did you know that Canadian author J. Torres has been writing the Chirp Comic since the January 2015? Let’s get to know J a little better with these six questions!
1 – What is your favourite part of writing the Chirp Comics?
J. The positive reaction from readers! I also love seeing the artwork come in. Cale and Jess have been fantastic.
2 – What is one thing you would like to see Chirp and his friends do?
J. I think it’d be fun to see them explore a haunted house! Something spooky but not too scary.
3 – Have you ever been to the Arctic?
J. I’ve been close: I once gave a talk at a school and library in Dutch Harbor, Alaska which is known as the “gateway to the Arctic.”
4 – What is your favourite colour?
J. What colour is the ocean in Hawaii? Aquamarine? Sea blue? That colour!
5 – When did you start writing stories?
J. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember! My first published comic, which I wrote and drew, was in the school paper when I was in the third grade.
6 – What does the J in your name stand for?
J. It stands for Joseph. But all my friends call me “Jay” so you can, too!
Thanks, Jay! We look forward to reading more and more of your hilarious comics!
