Happy Chinese New Year!
Hey Readers,
People in China and all over the world celebrated the Chinese New Year yesterday, with fireworks, food and family.
For this holiday, it is common to give small, red envelopes with money or chocolate coins inside.
Before opening them, kids put the envelopes under their pillows for seven days. This tradition is supposed to bring good luck.
The Chinese calendar has a 12-year cycle, with each year named after a different animal.
2013 is the Year of the Snake.
People born in the year of the snake are said to be great thinkers and great friends who work very hard.
