Happy New Year!
Do you have New Year’s day family traditions? My family tradition is to eat a big bowl of black-eyed peas and collard greens. This bean-and-veggie combo is supposed to bring good luck! I asked the chickaDEE team what they do with their families. Read on!
Melissa loves to go to a Chinese restaurant every New Year’s day. She always orders her favourite — General Tao chicken.
Tracey has a pretty fun tradition she brought back from England. In her family, a dark-haired family member has to walk through the door with a lump of coal right after midnight. If there isn’t a dark-haired family member around, you have to ask a friend or neighbour to walk through the door for you. This tradition is said to bring good luck to the household.
Tell me your family traditions by leaving a comment below! Hope you’re having a great day so far!
