Hockey Night in Canada Theme(s)
Hey all. It’s voting week: Canada elected a new government on Tuesday… and a new Hockey Night in Canada theme song on Saturday night! It took months to whittle down the nearly 15,000 entries in the competition, but the winner was finally unveiled this past weekend. The song is called “Canadian Gold” and it was written by an Alberta school teacher named Colin Oberst.

If you said the old one, don’t worry. Apparently it’s going to appear before hockey games on TSN now. Word has it that rock band Simple Plan have even recorded a version of the song. Could be fun. I mean, anything’s possible, right?

I’m not sure which one I like better. They are both super cool, but if I had to choose, I’d say I like the old one better. It has a cool ring to it, and it really makes me think about what it really means to be Canadian.
I heard that for the new one, it was the teacher vs. a 13 your-old boy.

hahahahaha!! The engineer’s guide to cats is SO funny! I loved it when the camera turned upside down and the cat looked like it was clinging on to the ceiling!!!!

Thanks. My comments seem to come up as a different time as I posted them, too. Actually, it never used to happen. It only started to happen very recently.
That one I just posted, by the way, is one hour behind the time on my computer’s clock, the time it actually right now that I am posting it.

Hey, did any of you guys receive the November 2008 issue of OWL? I’m still waiting for it.
It sounds cool, with all the football food, the ten tough questions OWL answered, the ten things I didn’t know about space, and all the other stuff.
The cover isn’t as cool as the covers for the other issues, but it’s okay, I guess.
I can’t wait to get my November issue.
