If I Could Enter the Contests…
Hey! I know a lot of OWL readers love contests. Sometimes we come up with a contest idea so cool that even I think, “Man, I would love to enter that.”
Case in point: the Postcard Contest from OWL’s Summer Digest. Unlike a lot of you guys, I don’t have a ton of artistic skill at my disposal. But why should I let that hold me back? I’ve gone ahead and created a postcard for Lantzville, British Columbia — my hometown.

Get it? The quote from Lantzville’s website says “arise” and there’s a picture of a rising sun! Oh, yes, I’m very clever.
So, who’s inspired? I expect you guys all to enter the contest so I can see your ideas. And, as if you needed more motivation, there’s also a wicked prize attached: the winner gets a Nintendo DS and a copy of The Legendary Starfy! The game is easy to pick up, and features tons of adventures — everything from gliding over bottomless pits to swimming straight up rainbows.

A Nintendo DS…?! I’m gonna… I mean my friend’s gonna enter it too!
I really want to enter that contest, but I’m not sure what to do…
For the contests, do I have to put my last name, or can I just put my inital?
Can I send it digital art for the blog?
I have a problem. I live in the country. Can I do a postcard about that?
Stringbean, maybe draw a field, a farm, a farmer’s market, a little country store or something like that.

Great idea, Katie! And Sidney, I mean that for the postcard contest you have to draw a pic of your home town, but I do not have a home town because I live in the country.
I am think about the contest but y didn’t they announced it yet?
