Hi readers,
Today is International Artist’s day, and to celebrate I’m here to tell you about some different styles of art and famous artists who have used them. Read on to learn more!
Pointillism
Pointillism is a style of painting where artists paint using lots of small, colourful dots. When looked at all together, these tiny dots come together to create a bigger image! One famous artist who used this style was Vincent Van Gogh.
Pop Art
Pop Art is a style of art that is colourful and fun. Pop Art paintings look kind of like comic book drawings and sometimes they use pictures of logos.
Cubism
Cubism is a style of art where artists use shapes to show different angles of the thing they are painting. Objects in Cubist paintings don’t look like they do in real life – instead, they look like lots of rectangles, triangles, and other shapes all put together. One of the most famous Cubist artists was Pablo Picasso.
Realism
Realism is a type of art where artists paint scenes from every day life and try to make them look the same way they look in real life. Old Realist paintings are like photographs from before there were cameras! One famous Realist artist was Edouard Manet, one of the first painters to paint regular modern life.
That’s all for today! I hope you learned something new. Next time you’re drawing or painting, try out one of these styles and let us know how it goes!
