Kaleidoscope Real World Video Challenge
If you’ve been looking at the December issue of OWL as much as I have lately (ie. a lot), then you’ve probably spent much time musing over the Real World Video Challenge announcement on the back cover.
The Challenge is an online video contest open to everyone 18 and under. It’s got a good heart and great prizes — you could win a video camera and a trip to Ottawa!
To enter, submit a short video telling the judges why you care about global issues, and what you think needs to be done.
Not sure if you should enter? Here’s a list of questions from the contest website:
- Are you in the Environmental Club at school?
- Do you volunteer with a local organization?
- Are you an artist or writer who is concerned about the world?
- Have you written to your local Member of Parliament?
- What are you and your family doing to help with issues like poverty, human rights, climate change, social justice, and the environment?
If you answered yes to any or all of those questions, or if you just want to speak your mind about global issues, the answer is: yes, you should enter! Click here for all the details, including deadlines and submission info. Then get filming. Your video could inspire people around the world.
Talk to you soon.

Cool! But the problem is I want to do things, think of the 1,000,000 other people entering, and give up. Sigh… it would be cool though. I’ll bring it up in my Art class!
I am going to enter, Craig!! I hope I win!!! Thanks for posting about it!! I wouldn’t have kown about if you hadn’t!!
