Meet a chickaDEE Illustrator!
Hi readers,
I’m sure many of you are familiar with the chickaDEE Magazine comic, Daisy Dreamer. Daisy uses her magical cap to twist into different animals to save the day!
The illustrator who brings Daisy to life on the page is Gabriel Morrissette. He’s been illustrating Daisy Dreamer for 16 years. That’s a long time!
Read on to learn more about Gabriel.
Gabriel cuddles his pooch, Molly!
chickDEE: When did you start drawing?
Gabriel: When I was the age of the readers of chickaDEE. Like all kids, I just drew for fun. I did it non-stop. I loved comics so much I wanted to make them, too. Even to this day, I still learn stuff about drawing.
chickaDEE: What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Gabriel: My dogs! Charlotte was the model for Dex in Daisy Dreamer. I also draw my new dog Molly. I love to draw my all time favourite comic book character: Howard the Duck.
chickaDEE: What’s your favourite thing about illustrating Daisy?
Gabriel: I am sure you have guessed it already. It’s drawing all the animals and Dex, of course!
chickaDEE: What’s your favourite colour?
Gabriel: Blue! I am quite fond of SKY BLUE, especially.
chickaDEE: How many siblings do you have?
Gabriel: One of each: a brother and a sister.
chickaDEE: What’s your favourite food?
Gabriel: Dim sum, sushi, Sheppard’s pie, baked beans, spaghetti…
I like to eat.
chickaDEE: What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
Gabriel: Would you believe Charlotte and Molly? I love dogs!
I work at home, so they keep me company. (Well, with Molly, I
keep her company. She’s a bit bossy)
That was so fun! Thanks for letting us get to know you better, Gabriel.
Talk to you later, readers!
