The Mighty Mites
In the April issue of OWL, we interviewed scientist Dr. Jennifer Gardy. She told us that she was a big Mighty Mites fan as a kid. Just who or what are the Mighty Mites?
Mighty Mites was a comic that ran in OWL Magazine for a mighty 26 years from 1976 to 2002! The comic was about a group of adventure-loving kids who could shrink down to explore our world. There was even a live-action version on TV that ran from 1985 to 1994. Check out this clip from one of the first episodes.
If you could shrink down to the size of a Mighty Mite for a day, what would you do?

Awww, the Mighty Mites are no more? They were one of my favourite things about Owl Magazine!
I think they were a lot of people’s favourite. They were around for 26 years!
hello!
I’m french (sorry for the bad english^^;) and I’m 34 years old: when I was younger in the nineties I read “the mighty mites” in the magazine “Hibou” ( french version of “Owl”). The name of the comic was “un monde fantastique” and the heroes were called “Marc”, “Luc” and “Sophie”( true name or french adaptation?).Little girl, I would never have guessed that it was actually a canadian comics… Hibou magazine doesn’t exist more today, and there is almost nothing on it on the french web! sigh…
I discovered an old Mighty Mite and my son loves it. Where could I buy more of this comic series?
Hey Amanda, that’s awesome to hear your son loves the Mighty Mites! But unfortunately, the comic series isn’t available to buy anywhere. Sorry!
Hi Amanda! I know this comment thread is old, so I’m not sure if you’ll get a notification for it/if you’d even still be interested, but just in case– I am selling the original comic art on behalf of the illustrator for these comics from 1976-1991. These are not the magazines, but the original illustration boards! Please feel free to reach out to me directly at “mthurman.art@gmail.com” if you are still interested!
Ate these sold and where are you selling them and did you get in touch with owl publishing?

It’s pretty hard to find the Mighty Mites in both languages, I only know about it because I used to collect old magazines as a hobby. I made the mistake of throwing most of the collection out. I only have 2-3 owl magazines that featured Mighty Mites left. On
