Movie review: Kung Fu Panda 2
Hi readers!
This past weekend, our Owlkids intern, Ashley, had the chance to see a preview screening of the new DreamWorks movie Kung Fu Panda 2 in 3-D!
Read on to hear what she thought of the movie.
In the sequel to Kung Fu Panda, we rejoin Po the Panda, now The Dragon Warrior, and the Furious Five, Tigress, Monkey, Crane, Viper, and Mantis, as they continue practising kung fu and protecting the world from evil. But Po and his pals are challenged when an evil peacock named Lord Shen comes to China. Lord Shen was banished from China many years ago and has returned to take over the country and destroy kung fu! Will the kung fu crew win the battle or will Lord Shen prevail? Check out the movie to find out!
Here are three things I loved about this movie:
1. It looked fantastic! The mix between the computer-animation (like the first movie) and traditional animation (like the classic Disney movies) was awesome.
2. I felt like I was in the movie. 3-D was made for movies like this. It really puts you in the middle of all the kung fu action.
3. It had a wonderful story. In the middle of all the action, there’s a heart-warming story of family and finding out who you really are.
Overall, I really liked this movie, and even shed a few tears — embarrassing but true!
Kung Fu Panda 2 hits theatres today. If you loved the first film, then Kung Fu Panda 2 is a must-see.
Talk to you later!

Help! Help!!! I have a question!!! You see, I’m turning 11 in July… AND that means I have to switch to OWL??? But, I want to enter one last contest… The Seacret Code Contest… I read the writing at the bottom… But, I didn’t know if it meant you had to be 5 to 10 years old as of July 31 or as in when you pass it in… Well, please please REPLY!!
Hi Oscar,
Thanks for visiting Club chickaDEE. Yes, the contest rules state that you must be between 5 to 10 years old on July 31, not the age you were when you sent it in. Hope that helps!

Awwww…
Im 14 and almost too old to enter contests in OWL. 🙁 Its mt lat year of think tank! 🙁 Once again. Mandy, does chickaDEE have a think tank or something similar? How about Chirp?

PS, when I turn 15 in about 8 months, can I still comment on here?
Hi Marissa!
Yes, chickaDEE has a version of the Think Tank called the Super Squad. Chirp has the Parent Advisory Committee. All these “Think Tanks” help us make the magazines better! I hope you will still visit the chickaDEE blog and leave a comment after your birthday. 🙂
