We love science at Owlkids, which is why we partnered with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to host the National Science Reading Day contest!
To celebrate Science Literacy Week 2019 and take part in the contest, kids and classrooms across Canada spent time reading about all-things science for a chance to WIN. All they had to do was read a science book, whether it was about crazy cool robots or amazing scientific discoveries, and send us photos or lists of the books they read that day.
We want to send a huge thank you to all of the students and teachers who took part in the event! Once again, we’ve selected four classrooms and five students as winners in this year’s contest. Congratulations to the lucky winners below!
Arin Turner’s Grade 4 class at Saskatoon Misbah School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Karen Strong’s Grade 1 class at St. John Chrysostom in Newmarket, Ontario.
Isabel Hoglund’s Grade 5 class in Calgary, Alberta.
Jennifer Dalley’s Grade 3 class at Riverwood Academy in Wing’s Point, Newfoundland.
We hoped you enjoyed taking part in National Science Reading Day! Best of luck in next year’s contest, readers!
