We want you to get to know some of the amazing Canadian athletes participating in the games this year so we’re featuring an Olympian or Paralympian every week until the events!
This week, Brian Price is our pick.

Since 2001, Brian has been the senior coxswain — the team member who steers the boat and instructs and motivates the rowers — on the Canadian men’s eight rowing team. During that time, he has earned three world championship victories, five World Cup gold medals, and a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
Hometown: Belleville, Ontario
Hero: “Terry Fox. I had leukemia when I was a kid, so I looked up to him.”
Favourite food: Tacos
Favourite subject in school: Science
Favourite bands: Our Lady Peace and The Tragically Hip
Favourite inspirational quote: “The motto from Camp Oochigeas, a camp for children with cancer: ‘You’ve only failed if you fail to try. Act as if it were impossible to fail, and it will be.’”
Best advice ever received: “Never get too high on the highs, and never get too low on the lows.”
