Olympic Fever – Jennifer Abel
From Brian Price last week to Jennifer Abel this week, we want you to get to know some of the amazing Canadian athletes participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games this year. So we’re featuring an athlete every week until the events!
Let’s get to know Jennifer Abel.

Sport: Diving
Hometown: Laval, Quebec
Greatest sports moment: “Winning third place at the 2011 FINA World Aquatic Championships in Shanghai. It was a big competition, and I showed I could control my emotions in order to dive well and finish on the podium.”
Hero: “The great American diver Greg Louganis. I admire his courage.”
Favourite subject in school: “Physical education was my favourite. I have always liked to move around, so that was the class I enjoyed the most.”
Favourite food: “I like food in general. I can eat anything! But before a competition, I have to eat something light and healthy to feel good after.”
Motivation before a competition: “I’m a type of diver who always listens to music while the competition is going on. I also always call my parents before each event I’m diving in.”
Best advice ever received: “To believe in myself.”
