ONE NIGHT ONLY: Total Lunar Eclipse
Calling all space fanatics, sky watchers, star gazers, and the like… there’s a total lunar eclipse tonight!
But, wait: what exactly is a total lunar eclipse? I’m glad you/I asked! Normally, the Moon is illuminated by the Sun. But, during a lunar eclipse, it’s covered in Earth’s shadow. When that happens, the Moon appears red to viewers because of all the sunrises and sunsets happening on Earth at that time.

The eclipse will be visible for everyone in North America, but there’s a catch: it starts at about 1:30 AM eastern time (10:30 PM in the west). So some of us (me, probably) might miss out this time around.
Still, it’s good to be informed. You know?

at one point in the eclipse the moon turns red cuz of the sun rises in other countries 🙂
