OWL Secrets Revealed!
Hi all. I received an email today from someone curious about something in OWL. I figured maybe some of you were curious about it, too, so I’m here to shed light on the mystery!
Check it out:
Mystery: In “Talk About It” illustrations, what is that little logo with the heart in it? (Ed’s note: for an example, see the illustration above, taken from the “Divorcing Parents” question in May OWL.)
Solution: It’s artist Kathy Boake’s signature! The “I” and the heart make a stylized “KB,” and the “W” stands for her married name: Wüthrich.
Cool, huh? Artists have been signing their work forever — the signatures are
just rarely so much fun!
Does anyone else have any OWL mysteries? If so, drop me a line and I’ll do my best to answer them all in the next OWL mailbag.
Craig, owlblog@owlkids.com
thats cool!!!
Thats cool!!!By the way in the other one i did i put 2 a’S in so this is my finial!!!
I always wanted to ask what that symbol/signature was, but I kept forgetting to. Also, I like to look for it in every “Talk About It” section, trying to find where it was placed this time. Kind of like “Where’s Waldo”, but instead “Where’s the Signature?”.
Ummmm…..Craig…….I cant see the picture
how does she make those pictures look like that??????? is it like, a collage? or is it drawn?
i CAN’T see the picture.
Hmm…It’s oK though because I have the OWL magazine, and I know what you’re talking about.
I have a question for the mailbag –
What kind of clothes (like fashion) were popular when you were a kid?
Not that I am into all that clothes stuff, I just find it interesiting to know!!!
Thnaks,
~ mArY…
Wow. I never even noticed that!
Neither can I.
Hey Craig,
I have a question – For “Owl’s Crossword Poetry Contest”, if I send it by email, how can I put the “Crossword Poetry Contest Entry Form” parent/guardian signature?
Because I cannot write it on the computer…
Please respond soon, because I want to send it to OWL asap!
Thanks,
Mary

if owl has a fax number you could print it out and fax it.
And if owl doesn’t have a fax number you could print it out get your parent to sign it then find a scaner (if you have one a home great, some libarys have) a scan the paper then put it back on the email.
Good ideas, Nicole! Also, Mary, you could also take a photo of the entry form with a digital camera. However, the easiest way to send it would be to mail it in.
CRAIG! i CANT SEE THE PICTURE!!!! Ok here is a question, what is your favorite TV show??
Marissa
Thanks so much Nicole & CraiG…
But if I mail it in, how can I know you recieved it?
Because if I email it to you, you said you’d give me a confirmation email …..
Oh, I have a scanning machine at home – Would it be OK if I scan it and send attach it to the email and send it to you?
Thanks so much!!!
Sorry for all the questions –
~Mary.
Related to the poll…baby lemurs are definitely cuter than baby bunnies. Just saying.
Craig, I have a question…can I send a photo RAotW through email?
M.
I think that’s the only way to send it, Mareyn
