Pop Goes the Poetry
Hey all. I thought I’d kick off Thursday with a little poetry. This poem, “Run of Their Life,” is from long-time blog reader Katie. Enjoy!
Run of Their Life
Thundering, pounding,
Booming, beating, stampeding,
Racehorses running along the track.
Browns, greys, and blacks galore
Running towards the finish line.
Final turn,
Final stretch,
And the race is over.
Won, it seems,
In a single bound.
Just one more quick note: thanks to everyone who’s sent stories and poems over the last little while. I can’t post everything I get, but it’s always amazing to see the different styles and ideas. You guys are great!
Thanks!

omg that was awesome Katie! i can’t write poetry, i know enough big poetic words but i cant make them sound good.
Thanks.
Craig, what about chapter 1 of “Leopard Hunt”? I sent that with the prologue. If it’s too dark though, forget it!
Nice Katie! I like it very much.
Haha nice one Katie. That was really good.
Thanks.
Sweet ! I had like a movie in my head!
i know, eh? that’s what was so good about the poem, you see it all in your head!
Good Job Katie
Your poem had a nice feel to it!
Really, Hailey?
That means so much.
Yeah, it was like ,I could see all the horses, and then there was an underside view, and they leaped over the finish line!
for me it was you could see all the horses feet from the side, then there heads head on, then they turn a corner, and then they all burst over the finish line. it’s so cool!
Cool, Hailey. Your mental movie sounds good.
Sinead’s movie sounds pretty awesome,too!
The gray horse with white spot won! yay!
I loved your poem.I could picture it in my mind. I made a poem for fun,here it is;
Walking through the shadowed door,
Footsteps shaking through the floor,
Taking pressure of the guage,
Here I am,upon the stage,
I sing a song,
I am encored,
As I step through
The shadowed door.
