Question of the Week – July 29
Here’s my question of the week!
Have you ever had the same dream over and over again? If so, what’s it like? If not, is there a particular dream that was particularly memorable?
Comment below and tell us!

I have a lot of dreams where I can fly. I like those. But I also have a lot of dreams where I’m swimming in the water with sharks. And I don’t like those ones!
In your shark dreams, are you always trying to get away from them or are you just swimming peacefully with them? It could be a scary dream!
I’m always trying to get away from them because I’m scared of sharks. They’re one of my biggest fears!
I think you need to have more sharks named Bruce in your dreams. He was jolly and laid back in Finding Nemo!
Don’t you wish you could fly? I had a dream once like that, after I read a book with kids who had magical powers in it!
When i was younger, I used to have dreams about dogs all the time. I really liked those, because I really wanted a dog. Whenever I woke up after a dream like that, I would be like, “Darnit! it was a dream!”
Awwww, did you ever end up getting a dog, Sophia? What kind of dogs did you dream about? All different kinds?
I had a dream, I think more than once, about me walking up stairs. It felt like stairs to a water slide, maybe even a spiral staircase, but they weren’t wet. It was also perfectly peaceful. I was inside somewhere but the sun was shining on the stairs bright and warm. Kind of like the feeling you get if you’re in a pool and the sun shines on the spot you are in and it’s so warm and peaceful. I don’t remember ever reaching the top.
Interesting, Alyssa. I loved how you described this dream. I had a perfect visual of it. Maybe you’ll reach the top in your next dream.
Wow! Sounds like paradise! Did you ever get tired?
Ever since I was young, I’ve had a recurring dream about snakes. I get it every few years. Nothing ever bad happens in it but I still wake up in a panic! But it’s kind of odd, I’m not freaked out by snakes in real life.
It’s strange how snakes seem different in dreams to you. What types of snakes are they?
In my dreams, they all look like big water snakes!
I keep on having dreams about my mom, my dad, my sister, and I. Sometimes it is a bad dream and somethimes it is a good dream.
Interesting. I hope the majority of them are good dreams!
I’ve never ever had a recurring dream! But once last summer, I had a dream that the atmosphere was in such a bad condition that people were trying to replace it with a giant net. It was too small to cover up the entire world, and everyone had to keep buying pieces of net to attach to the big one to make it bigger. It really scared me and for a week I was too scared to tell anyone. It inspired me to do something really good for the environment when I grow up.
Wow! What a dream, Tardis. Oh my goodness. It was so powerful that you’re going to do something about the state of the environment when you grow up?!? That’s amazing! What is your plan? How would you like to help? Join an organization? Invent something new? Tell us more!
Well, a while ago I had this idea for a club, kind of like Girl Guides. It’s for kids, and in it they learn about the environment and do badges and things on some things about it. They could also learn about the careers you can do that have to do with the Earth. Then we could do group activities, like cleaning up the park. I think it would be a start for some people who want to help when they get older, and maybe it would really inspire one or two people to do something really big! I’d really like to get it going, though I don’t know when.
I think this is an absolutely fantastic idea, Tardis. Don’t give up on this! I love the part about incorporating badges. I totally agree that it could inspire people. Sometimes people want to help the environment and/or community but they don’t know where to start. This would give them a starting point. You could name your club something really catchy! It sounds like it would be a really meaningful project for you.
I’ve had the same sorts of themes in dreams, but they’re never exactly the same. Many dreams have my friends in them, and we go on all different types of adventures from entering our favourite books, to going to school! Another theme is a scary one. Something or someone starts chasing me, like a werewolf or a Samurai Warrior! I run and run for a very long time because I seem to have really good endurance in dreams! My dreams are always unique from each other, and I like it that way.
That’s interesting that you say you have good endurance in your dreams, Maia. I have experienced the same thing! I can’t run for a long time in real life but in my dreams, I can run through the forest for ever, it seems! I’m curious to know what the Samurai Warrior looked like in your dreams? That is scary when something or someone is chasing you in dreams. It creates a panic feeling!
Well, the dream had started when I waved to some royalty, and the royalty sent all different types of soldiers and warriors after me, especially Samurai Warriors. They were dressed in black with a long, pointy spear. I ran (with my great dream endurance) all over restaurants, my friend and family’s houses, and parks to get away!
Amazing! I love how you included restaurants on places you ran to get away. It’s like you see in the movies when you see a foot race. Your dream would make an excellent story!
Hey Kim!
I have had a similar situation like the repetition of a dream, but it was more like a continuation. I was at this weird school and for some reason all these bad things were happening, but I would dodge them somehow. I guess it just really had an eerie feeling to it.
Leah!
It sounds eerie! What kind of bad things were happening? Or are they too scary to mention? Hopefully that dream never comes back!
