We interrupt our regular Olympic programming to bring you this very important… art! Last week, I asked everyone to send me some new stuff for Reader Art of the Week and, lo and behold, blog reader Katie(the author) sent some in right away!

Fun! I like the manga (say: “MAHN-guh”) style and the use of colour to make certain, small bits of the picture pop.
As Katie(the author) explained to me, this drawing was inspired by the book The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya. She says, “This is Yuki Nagato (my favourite character) holding a cat called Shamisen. She is wearing the hat and cape because she plays an evil alien witch in the movie the five main characters make for their school’s cultural festival.”
Sounds like a cool book, huh? Many thanks to Katie(the author) for sending in her art. Please send me YOUR art, and I’ll post it up on the blog ASAP.

I worked really ******* it.
Some of the darker black parts look a little different than when I sent it in. I can also see that Craig made it smaller, narrower and added a black border.
Oh, and by the way: Her real hair colour is, in fact, silvery-grey-ish.

Shamisen is a talking cat, but it the picture he’s just meowing like a normal cat.

Tsuka-san! She`s so cute and klutzy. I like her personality, but my favourite is Minami. She seems cold, but she`s really very sweet. Who`s your favourite, Katie?
