Hi all. It’s a brand new year, which means we have a possibility of 52 full weeks of Reader Art of the Week in 2011. So let’s get right to it!
This week’s art comes to us courtesy of blog reader Oscar. Check it out:
Wow! Oscar tells me he painted this picture of a Scottish castle from a book during two sessions of his acrylic painting class. In Oscar’s own words:
I first painted the whole picture with blue, then added some mountains. Then I added another layer of mountains on top with trees. Finally, I added some more details and did the big tree.
Personally, I love how Oscar captured the reflection of the castle on the water. I’ve never painted with acrylic paint, but I can’t imagine that’s an easy task!
