RAotW #37
Hey all. So we’ve featured a lot of different types of art so far in Reader Art of the Week. We’ve had drawings, paintings, photos, poems, stories, and even, once, digital art. But we’ve never had a word collage. And definitely not a word collage featuring words from a recent OWL blog post!
Luckily, blog reader Tia has remedied that issue for us. Check out her awesome word art:
Cool, huh? Tia created this image using words from the “Retro ‘Weird Zone’ Redo” article I posted last month (it was about water-powered jetpacks, in case you were curious!).
Click here to see a larger version of Tia’s art so you can read it better. Then click here to check out the website she used to make it! Many thanks, by the way, for both the art and the link, Tia.
And with that, we conclude another successful edition of Reader Art of the Week. Keep sending in your art, blog readers. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next [week]!
Craig, owlblog@owlkids.com

Thanks Craig!!
BTW some words are bigger than others because the more the words appear in the box when you paste in the words, the bigger they will be. For example:
The biggest commenters on that article were Craig, Mary, and Hannah. That’s why their names are so big!
Oh, that makes sense. “April” is so big because each comment would have had “April” in the date above it. Thanks for the fact!
I don’t get it.
You commented the most, so when I copied the article your name appeared more than some of the other words. Get it? Or is still confusing? 🙂
Still very confusing. Sorry.
No worries, Hannah, 10. Maybe I can explain. Tia created the art using all the text from that “Retro ‘Weird Zone’ Redo” blog post — including what I wrote, as well as the comments and all the little text that separates the comments. Certain words (“April,” “Craig,” “Hannah,” “pm,” etc.) show up a lot of times on that page. The more a word shows up, the larger it becomes in the final image. (That’s just the way the program works.) Therefore, “April” is the biggest word in the image because it was included in almost every one of the comments, and more times than any other word. Make sense?
I GET IT NOW!!! YEAH!! Thank you, Craig and Tia!! Well, I sort of get it…thank you!
Awesome, Tia!! Now, the word: “Hannah” is that me? If it is, thank you. That’s an awesome website and a really totally cool collage!! I have to ask my Mom if I can make one…because I’m only ten, I have to ask her and I will!!! I’ll send it in, Craig!!
yep! hannah means you. you and mary were the biggest commenters on the post!
Oh, I get it now, so THAT’s why my names so big!!
haha 🙂
Thank you, Tia!
Wow, so cool! I made one about this episode of an audio drama me and my BFF, Hannah S. are obsessed with. Tomorrow I’m leaving Quebec, and we have to meet at their school at 3:45 Quebec time! Which is 12:45 Vancouver time! So early! But I’ll finally get to see my cat again. Awww, I miss her.
AWESOME! Great layout and colours, fantastic job!
I love it, Tia! Soo creative and interesting! —>Great idea.
You put ME in it! THANK YOU, TIA!
no prob. Kaitlyn 🙂
OMG Sorry My friend was over and her name was still in the box.
I didn’t notice, SORRY!!!
Never mind, I don’t think it showed up.
If the name “Sydney” is your friend, Tia, then yes, it showed. Maybe it’s someone else, though.
Oh, yea it did…
No Problem. 🙂
WOAH!!! Thats really cool!!! I like it… wait sorry LOVE it!!!
Your collage is so cool!
