It’s been a couple weeks since the last edition of Reader Art of the Week, but here we are: back in action!
This week’s art comes to us from blog reader Marissa by way of the recent OWL blog post about International Youth Day. In the post, I challenged you all to draw self portraits. Marissa was up to the challenge, and she sent me the portrait below.

As Marissa says, “I drew this self portrait because I LOVE art! I had this idea: what if all the kids in the world drew self portraits? You could see the diversity of everyone and every nation.”

it was a lot of work 2 do that…….you have to look at a pic of youself the whole time of look in a mirror…..its way easier 2 draw a picture of someone else than you self but it was fun! Thanks for posting it craig!!!!!!!!!

nice job marrissa, self portraits are so hard…especially to get all the proportions…what i like to do is take a pic of me, download it to the computer print it then use a light table and just trace it 😛 then its perfect
