RAotW #43
Are you ready to set a record? (I mean, we just set one, so I hope you’re ready.) The record: four straight weeks of Reader Art of the Week. Three cheers!
This week’s record-setting art comes to us from blog reader Kaitlyn. Check out her fantastic photo:
Like I said above: fantastic! You want to know what’s even more fantastic? The tulips in the picture actually looks like this:
HUH?! Kaitlyn took the first shot on a cloudy day. It also appears she used the light available to her and experimented to create a really dramatic look. Very cool. Also, we’ve talked about getting the perfect perspective before, but never have we seen it used to replicate what a bug sees!
All that said, many, many thanks to Kaitlyn for sending in her art and for helping us set a new RAotW record!
Finally, four weeks in a row is pretty great, but I’d love to see if we make it five, 10, maybe even every week all summer. For that, I’m going to need your help! Send in your photos, drawings, stories, poems, and anything else you’d like to see presented for all to see on the blog to owlblog@owlkids.com.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Craig, owlblog@owlkids.com

Thanks, hannah!!
Kaitlyn = )
Thats really cool! Actually, I have a lot of things kicking around that I’ve been meaning to send in. I should probably do that soon…
That’s a great picture!
that’s really cool Kaitlyn!
Thanks, Amanda! Your fern picture was really cool too!
Happy Kanada Day!!! LOL 😀
Ha!Ha! That’s what I noticed!
What?
In the “Go Canada! Go Owl!” post, the video was German so in the title instead of Canada, it said Kanada. And if you look in the comments, I asked Craig about it. Now, ever since, Tia is saying “Happy Kanada Day!!!”
Do you get it now??
-Kaitlyn ;P
Wow! Those are such good photos! I like them a lot!
Great job Kaitlyn!
Thanks, Selena! And thanks Everyone!
Nice pictures! Those are really beautiful tulips. I have some pictures i just uploaded from my camera, so I have a fresh pile of stuff to send you! Hey Craig, maybe for one RAotW (or a few), we could do a RAotW gallerey, with several diffrent reader arts form seferal diffrent people. It could also be cool if you did several diffrent ones with diffrent methods, like photography, paints, sketes ect. or diffrent things like flowers, animals, scenery ect. I dunno, i just thought it would be coo, since sometimes people are like, “Aww, you didm’t post mine”, and this way you could post several at a time!
What’s sketes?
Maybe she meant Scetches?
That’s what I thought….hhhmmm……..
hanks SO much for putting my photo on RAotW, Craig! And thank you everyone!!! I’m actually thinking of framing that photo!! I’m glad I’m the record holder!!
Craig, I have 2 more photos and I’m almost done a drawing so you will hear from me again soon. I will also try to find my other drawing that I sent to you earlier. You said it was too dark so I’ll scan as soon as I find it again.
Craig, when are we having our “Chasing Vermeer” Owl Blog Book Club meeting, again? I forget.
Again thank you SSSSOOO much Craig for putting my photo on RAotW!!!
No problem, Kaitlyn! Thanks for sending in the photos. Also, good reminder on the Book Club. We’re having our next meeting on Tuesday, July 19. Everyone needs to have Chasing Vermeer read by then!
Okay, thanks! I’ll send you more in the next couple of days : )
