RAotW #50
Wee-oo, wee-oo, wee-oo! (Note: that’s the milestone alert, which indicates we’ve just hit another milestone here on the OWL blog.) As of the publication of this post, we’ve reached 50 editions of Reader Art of the Week. Can you believe it?
This week’s perfectly timed art comes to us courtesy of blog reader Amanda. Check out her summery photo below:
Beauty, huh? What makes this even more perfect for the 50th edition of RAotW is it marks a new kind of art for the section: sand art! I mean, we’ve had photos, drawings, paintings, stories, poems, digital art, rock art, and even food art, but we’ve never had a sand sculpture on the blog, and it’s high time we did. (If anyone wants to follow this up with an ice sculpture, please do!)
Amanda tells me she and her family created the stupendous sandcastle above on a day trip to a town in Ontario called Sauble Beach. Sounds like that town is perfectly named, huh? That beach looks awesome!
Anyway, many thanks to Amanda for sending in her art, and to everyone else who has contributed to the section. I’m always amazed at what you guys come up with, and I’m looking forward to seeing lots more art (hint hint) in the future. Please send your art to me at owlblog@owlkids.com.
Talk to you later in the week.
Craig, owlblog@owlkids.com

I can send one to you Craig in December….
Thanks, Sunil! Can’t wait. Just be careful if you’re using any carving tools! (If this were an OWL article, there would be a big stop sign with the line “Ask an adult before carving.” written inside!)
that should be in an owl magazine december or january/February issue! lol
