Sneaky Smoothies
Hi everyone,
I have a confession to make: I’ve been putting spinach in my kids’ fruit smoothies. And they seem to like it. It works best if I stick with a small handful, and I try to avoid adding much to red berry smoothies (red + green= brown = not-so-appetizing). Here’s our basic breakfast smoothie recipe:
- 1 banana
- 1 cup berries
- 1 cup liquid (milk, non-dairy milk or juice)
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 small handful of spinach (or kale, if you’re really gutsy)
- 1 to 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
Whirl everything in a high-powered blender and serve. And smile.
