Superpower Your School
Hi, readers!
Does your school have a neat recycling program? How about a vegetable garden? Or maybe you have field trips where you pick up garbage in the community? If your school is dedicated to saving the environment, then you might be eligible to enter the Staples Superpower Your School Contest.
This contest rewards schools for making a positive impact on the environment. Ten winners will each get $25,000 to spend on new technology. That’s a lot of learning power!

One of last year’s winners was St. Agatha Catholic School, where students formed a Stewards of the Earth Committee. The committee organized and hosted the annual Scarborough Green Fair, where they shared their environmentally-friendly ideas and resources with the community.
If you’d like your school to enter, these are the requirements:
- It’s a Canadian elementary or secondary public school, or an independent school with charitable status
- It’s environmentally conscious
- It’s involved in your community
